Registered Nurse - PRN

The role of the Registered Nurse under the direction of the patient's physician and the director, develops the plan of care with the other members of the Case Management Team, makes necessary revisions, then initiates, evaluates and follows the Plan of Care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Idaho State Board of Nursing
• Current BLS certification
• Transportation available to make home visits and be able to work weekends
• Minimum one year experience in an acute care setting or one year experience in home health or hospice care preferred
• Good verbal and written communication skills required.
• Proficient with basic computer operation and programs

Physical Requirements:

• Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communication.
• Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include heavy lifting, transferring and/or positioning patients, and extensive bending and standing.

Job Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the patient's physician, develop the plan of treatment, make necessary revisions, then initiate, evaluate and follow the treatment plan.

• Make initial assessment visit and conferences with attending physician to develop the nursing care plan for the patient.
• Initiate appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures as ordered by the physician to provide total patient care.
• Demonstrate and teach patients and/or caregivers to promote independence.
• Assist families in recognition and solution of physical, emotional and environmental health problems and accepting responsibility for care.
• Assist patients as needed to transfer, lift, turn, assist in ambulation, active/passive range of motion, and other physical functions needed in the performance of duties while in the patient's home.
