Chaplains
Legacy Hospice is pleased to include in its care giving team the services of professionally trained chaplains. Our philosophy of comprehensive patient care calls us to attend to the physical, emotional and spiritual well being of our clients. The scope of chaplain support may include the following:
- Spiritual care and counsel with hospice patients and their families, friends and loved ones
- Administration of sacraments, rituals and prayer
- Counsel with patients, family members and staff concerning ethical and religious decision making in regard to living wills and advance directives as well as the utilization and/or discontinuation of life support
- Crisis intervention and counsel during death
- Bereavement counseling
- Group counseling
- Spiritual support for the Legacy Hospice staff
- Liaison with local spiritual caregivers and clergy
- Funeral and memorial assistance
Chaplains aligned with Legacy Hospice visit regardless of belief, creed or religion. They work to bring comfort, healing, counsel, prayer, faith, hope and compassion to all they serve. They seek to contribute by providing patients, families and staff ready and convenient access to supportive pastoral services. In doing so, our hope is to create a nurturing spiritual and emotional climate in which the transition from life to death may take place for those we serve. Should you or your loved one desire to visit with one of our Chaplains, please call us at (208) 895-8686.
